Frequently Asked Questions
If your question isn't answered here, then please do get in touch!
How does this service work?
Quite simply, if you are an event medical provider and you are looking for a Paramedic, then I should be able to help!
I generally don't quote for events myself - if you are an event organiser looking for this, then please do get in touch and I will put you in touch with an industry partner who can help. I generally only offer a 'bolt-on' service for other established companies.
Whether it is just another Paramedic to make up the numbers, a specialist presence such as Urgent or Critical Care, or a full-on self-sufficient Resuscitation/Critical Care area that can be dropped straight in to your existing plans, I can probably help!
Base pricing depends on whether or not your insurance will cover me, and of course how long you want me for. I do charge extra for some additional services but I have tried to make my pricing as clear as possible on here. I of course value ongoing working relationships over a 'quick buck', so if you are in a position to offer recurrent work then I am happy to negotiate pricing.
That being said, I am an experienced senior clinician, so I won't work for peanuts!
Most great things start with a conversation so please do get in touch - I look forward to working with you.
Do you offer credit?
I don't offer anyone credit until I get to know and trust you - please don't take offence at that. I, like many in the industry, have previously lost out, so this is non-negotiable.
Once we have worked together a few times without issue, then I am more than happy to discuss credit options. In any case, I will not offer any longer than 30 day terms.
Do you offer a discount for shorter shifts?
Generally no, as attending a 6 hour event likely still takes up most of my day. That being said, if you are willing to book me for several events, particularly if they are close to our base (HP22 4DQ) then I would be happy to negotiate.
If you are planning several shorter days in a row, then please do get in touch as I am usually happy to negotiate the day rate if I am staying on site/close by.
What about mileage and overnight costs?
As a general rule, I charge mileage if the round trip distance is more than 60 miles. The rate does fluctuate with the cost of fuel and is kept current on our booking system. If you need me to tow anything then I may need to charge extra to cover that.
Overnight expenses include accomodation and sustenance: generally I look to book overnight accomodation once the journey time is over 90 minutes each way (or 60 minutes if back-to-back days). Additionally, if I would need to set off before 5am to get to you then I will typically book local accomodation the night before. Usually I will book the nearest Travelodge/Premier Inn and charge that back to you (no markup). Sustenance is charged at up to £25 per night, depending on whether breakfast and/or dinner are provided.
I am very happy to camp on-site if this is an option - depending on what facilities there are (and time of year) I can bring a tent or caravan.
